Arsenal Superstar set to return after career-threatening injury

Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has revealed his injury problem which almost led to him losing his leg but the Spaniard is still eyeing a comeback next year, as per  Evening Standar.

Santi Cazorla has been out of action since sustaining an Achilles injury during the Gunners UEFA Champions League victory over Ludogorets at the Emirates Stadium way back in October of 2016.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was previously hopeful the attacking midfielder would only be sidelined for some days but the inflammation refused to recede despite being treated by medics with cortisone injections.

Eventually the Spain international had to undergo surgery on his tendon but unfortunately, the wound kept opening up and the horrific incident that followed led to the attacker undergoing eight operations over the past 1 year.

The Arsenal ster has now said that at one point, Doctors told him that he’d be lucky if he could walk with his leg around his garden again after suffering a nasty infection which led to about 8cm of his Achilles tendon being consumed.

At some point, if the infection had not been properly treated, he could have been forced to cut off his foot and the attacker had to go under the knife to correct that, which involved using skin from his arm to heal the wound.
