According to Daily Mirror reporter Jason Burt, Chelsea wants to land a forward in the mould of Spain international Fernando Llorente in the winter transfer window.
Chelsea have been strongly linked with a switch to sign a striker regularly over the last month or so.
Spain international striker Alvaro Morata, who was signed last summer, seems to have lost confidence and shape as he succumbs to the hectic schedule of the English Premier League.
His deputy Belgian Michy Batshuayi has netted some important goals under manager Antonio Conte but has found it hard to displace Alvaro Morata for a first-team position.
The Premier League Champions came close to landing the former Juventus forward Llorente in the summer transfer window but the Spaniard decided to join their City rivals Tottenham on transfer deadline day.
Chelsea were also linked with a shock move to bring in West Ham forward Andy Carroll over the weeks.
Burt claimed the Blues are in the transfer market to sign a forward but poured cold water on questions regarding Carroll joining the club.
Conte’s team finished in top position in the English top flight log last season to win their second Premier League title in three years.
