Diego Godin

Manchester United are reported to have returned to Spain in order to revive their interest in Atlético Madrid player, Diego Godin

United have been monitoring Diego Godin for a long while now with the previous move turned down from the Wanda Metropolitano which is followed by a renewal of his deal at the club.

The Uruguay international joins the list of possible signings in the coming winter transfer window which reopens in coming months having made his intention to sign a defender known to the public.

However, Godin is locked in talks for another contract at the moment but nothing has been finalized as his representatives want a better deal for him.

United are ready to grant the wish of the player at the Old Trafford and also meet the £22 million release clause in his current contract with the Spanish side.

Should Atletico Madrid fail to agree with Godin’s representatives, suggestions are that he would be allowed to leave so as not to lose him for free.

Godin remains one of the toughest and uncompromising defender known in Europe. His leadership ability and intelligence could help the Red Devils find their balance.

The Old Trafford team have conceded 21 league goals, just 7 less than the goals against in the whole of last season
