Andre Gomes

Spanish champions Barcelona have turned down a big bid for midfielder Andre Gomes who’s expected to leave the club this summer.

This is according to Sky Sports News which claimed that Premier League club West Ham United made an £18m bid for Portuguese international Andre Gomes and the bid was swiftly knocked back by five-time European champions Barcelona.

Andre Gomes was taken to the Premier League like a duck to water after an excellent season with Everton.

The 25-year-old spent the season with the Toffees after joining them on a season-long loan deal at the start of the campaign.

It was revealed that Barcelona are holding out for between £25m and £35m for the Portuguese international midfielder.

Everton are amongst the clubs keen on a summer deal for Andre Gomes as the Toffees are looking to make his loan deal a permanent one.

Others like Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Liverpool have also been linked with a summer swoop for the player.

The Hammers are the first club to make an official bid for Andre Gomes this summer.

Andre Gomes is surplus to requirements at Barcelona after an unimpressive two-year spell at the Nou Camp following his transfer from Benfica in 2016.
