Chelsea star player Cesc Fabregas is of the opinion that his side’s busy schedule played a huge role in making them lose to Manchester City during the weekend at Stamford Bridge.

The citizens were able to come over to West London to get all three points from the game after Kevin De Bruyne’s goal in the 67th minute, and Cesc confessed that Pep Guardiola’s side is actually a ‘great’ side.

The former Arsenal captain however believes Man City has an edge over his side in the lead-up to the encounter due to their own schedule, with the visitors having an extra day of preparation after their Champions League game on Tuesday.

“[They] came well prepared [and] had home games and one extra day of rest.

But [for Chelsea], it was a difficult week and we have competed.” Fabregas said.

Former Chelsea star player De Bruyne was the one who scored the sole goal of the game at Stamford Bridge, prompting some Chelsea fans to take to social media to express their grievances towards Jose Mourinho for selling the player when he was still boss at Chelsea.

Chelsea are now sitting fourth on the premier league table behind Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, and manager Antonio Conte has already admit things won’t be easy for him this season.
