According to reports, Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil will not renew his contract at the Emirates Stadium this season and tries to join Premier League giant Manchester United on a free over the next summer.

The Germany international midfielder was signed by current United manager Jose Mourinho at La Liga side Real Madrid in 2010 and played 157 matches under the Portuguese tactician joining Premier League side Arsenal in 2013.

Rumour surrounding Mesut Ozil’s future has amplified all through the summer after the former Real Madrid star refused to pen a new deal tabled at the end of last ream.

And as reported by the Mirror‘s John Richardson, the playmaker’s representatives have made enquiries over a possible move to Manchester next summer.

The sight of the Ozil toiling at the Emirates has always been annoying to see. He has struggled under the weight of Wenger’s obsolete philosophy. Because this is a highly gifted player with extraterrestrial, and unteachable talent – and someone United boss Jose Mourinho knows.

While at Real Madrid he was used in a far more dynamic system: sometimes behind the attack ghosting into space, sometimes going out wide and interswitching to create space. Most of all, the German was a disciplined, hard-working player to Real.
