Former Aston Villa and Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino has showered high praise on Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk after his impressive start to the season.
Van Dijk is a key member of the Liverpool squad that has gone four points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
The Dutch international centre back has been in sensational form for the Reds since he signed for the club in the penultimate transfer window in January.
Van Dijk joined Liverpool from fellow Premier League side Southampton in a deal worth £75m.
The transfer fee made him the most expensive defender in the history of world football.
Tony Cascarino spoke about Liverpool and Virgil Van Dijk in a chat with popular English media outlet The Times as he said that the 27-year-old could be the best centre back that he has seen in the wake of his performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday night.
The retired Republic of Ireland international went on to add that Van Dijk is the best transfer made by Klopp.
Virgil Van Dijk has maintained the same impressive form for the country after he played a major role in the Netherlands’ qualification for the UEFA Nations League semifinals.
The Dutch team will face England next year to determine who will qualify for the final.
