Former Liverpool skipper Phil Thompson has urged the club to make a move for Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho when the transfer window reopens this summer.
The Liverpool legend spoke to popular media channel Sky Sports about his desire for Philippe Coutinho to return to the club in the summer.
According to him, he will take the Brazilian international star back at Liverpool without blinking an eye.
Philippe Coutinho left Liverpool for Spanish champions Barcelona in a controversial manner but he has not been able to secure a permanent spot in the starting XI at the Nou Camp.
Liverpool were reluctant to let the player join Barcelona when he did in January 2018.
The Reds were said to have received at least £116m for his transfer to the Catalan giants thus making the Brazilian playmaker the most expensive player in the history of world football apart from the Paris Saint Germain (PSG) duo of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
The player scored 54 goals in 201 appearances for Liverpool before his exit from the club at the start of last year.
Philippe Coutinho has struggled for form at times at Barcelona in the last 18 months and he has been linked with a return to the Premier League with clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea.
