Former AS Monaco and FC Porto attacking midfielder Rodriguez, who was the main man at the last edition of the FIFA World emerging the topscorer with 6 goals, 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, sealed a £63m move to Real Madrid after the tournament in Brazil in that summer has found limited playing opportunities under manager Zinedine Zidane and is open to a move away from the club.

According to the report in popular news outlet Daily Express, Chelsea will however face a fight for their transfer target from league rivals Manchester United as they both go head-to-head for the right to sign James Rodriguez, who has won only the UEFA Champions League (UCL) title since he made the move from French side AS Monaco.

The previously mentioned English clubs namely Chelsea and Manchester United were interested in a transfer for him this summer but his Spanish side opted to keep him at the Santiago Bernebeu.
