Manchester United star player Phil Jones has hit back at those criticising his side following their 0-0 draw with Liverpool last Saturday at Anfield.
The Englishman insists Jurgen Klopp’s side actually deserved getting a point from the encounter due to their impressive performance during the game.
Man United boss Jose Mourinho has been criticised for the manner his team played against Liverpool. His side had just one shot on target during the game, and many are feeling the red devils were too cautious against Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The Old Trafford club started this season impressively and have scored 21 times in just seven premier league games. They are also yet to lose a single game currently, and critics thinks the game at Anfield is an indication that Man United are not as strong as supposed.
But United defender Jones has dismissed the criticism hurled towards his club and has also hailed his side’s defensive performance as they were still able to get a clean sheet which enabled them maintain their unbeaten run.
Speaking to the Daily Star, the Englishman indicate he wasn’t disturbed by the critics, and, according to him, no club wants to lose a game irrespective of the club they are playing against.
Jones, who has worked hard to become a regular player this season, will now turn his attention to Manchester United’s next Champions League game against Benfica on Wednesday.
