Real Madrid shot stopper Thibaut Courtois has called on the club to sign Chelsea forward Eden Hazard as they look to bolster their squad in the summer following the exit of former talisman Cristiano Ronaldo.

Courtois was speaking in a recent interview with Belgian media outlet Het Nieuwsbald.

According to him, Eden Hazard would be a more ideal signing for the European champions over Paris Saint Germain (PSG) forward Neymar.

Brazilian superstar Neymar is the most expensive player in world football following his transfer to the French capital of Paris from Spanish champions and Real Madrid’s arch rivals Barcelona.

PSG activated the €220m (£200m) release clause in his then Barcelona contract to secure his signing.

The 26-year-old has been strongly linked with a return to Barcelona as well as a move to Champions League holders Real Madrid.

It’s not surprising that Thibaut Courtois has nominated Eden Hazard as a potential replacement for Ronaldo ahead of Neymar having played together with him at Chelsea before his move to Real Madrid last summer.

Courtois and Hazard are international teammates with the Belgian national team.

Recent reports claim that Eden Hazard is close to sealing a summer move to Real Madrid in a deal worth £97m.
