Borussia Dortmund winger Ousmane Dembele revealed he rejected advances from Jurgen Klopp to sign for the Bundesliga side during the transfer window.
The 19-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Anfield with reports that the Liverpool boss made efforts to sign him during the transfer window but eventually signed for Dortmund after much speculations surrounding his move.
Dembele has now confirmed to have spoken with Klopp during the summer window, he said: ‘I saw Klopp in Paris but I told him I’d made up my mind to sign for BVB,’
The youngster then revealed a keen interest from former Leicester City boss who even made contact with him during the transfer window.
‘No, Ranieri speaks French from when he coached Monaco,” Dembele said of his conversation with Claudio Ranieri.
‘I made the decision a long time ago, so going to Leicester was out of the question.’
The winger has been a standout performer for Dortmund since his move, scoring six goals and 13 assists from 28 appearances so far this season.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is said to be a keen admirer of the youngster abilities and might continue to monitor his situation despite his choice to play for his former side Borussia Dortmund
