Why Arsenal might not sign Meunier this summer

There are fears that North London outfit Arsenal will lose out on the signature of French Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint Germain defender Thomas Meunier in this summer transfer window.

The Gunners team are in search of a right back as they now lack option with the departure of Stephan as a free player.

Hector Bellerin has not been consistent due to the injuries he has had to battle with, leaving the Arsenal defence exposed.

Daily Mail has therefore reported that the Gunners team might be prised out of a move for Thomas Meunier because of the €30m (£27m) fee imposed on the player.

This makes it a setback for Arsenal and manager Unai Emery because they might not have a budget as heavy as that.

It is no longer news that Arsenal management are only handing the sum of £40 million to the Spanish boss to engage in this summer transfer window which is suspected not to be enough, going by the number of needs at the team.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are also keen on the signature of the PSG man as they have had their bid for Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka turned down in this summer transfer window.
