Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has finally confirmed that the English Premier League side will not cash in on star players Chilean Alexis Sanchez and German Mesut Ozil in the winter transfer window, as per a report on the Guardian.
Both superstars are nearing the expiration of their respective contracts at the Emirates and could potentially depart on a free switch in the summer transfer window.
Both players are open to commence pre-contract negotiations with any foreign club they like in the New Year but the North Londoners are still hopeful of convincing the duo to agree and pen new and improved deal extensions.
Chile international forward Alexis Sanchez came close to signing for English Premier League rivals Manchester City last summer window and is still being seriously linked with a switch to the Premier league leaders.
Germany international attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil has been strongly linked with a transfer to Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United side but Arsene Wenger confirmed that the duo remain focused on the task before them with the North London side.
Arsene Wenger’s side will need the former Barcelona man and the former Real Madrid star if they are to challenge favourably for a Champions League place for next season.
