Jose Mourinho last season in his second Chelsea stint was not a managers dream as Chelsea -champions just few months back- struggle for worse and saw them record the worse title defense of the Premier League.
When most of Mourinho’s trusted soldiers faltered, Willian didn’t. The 28-year-old Chelsea player took it upon himself to save games for Chelsea and had seven goals to his name but the Portuguese manager and the club part ways.
The Brazilian has not been a starter at Chelsea in recent weeks, Pedro had been a preferred option, pushing Willian down the pecking order.
Jose Mourinho is a fan of the Brazilian and it seems he might be looking to bring him into the fold at Old Trafford in the coming January transfer window.
Willian was Chelsea player of the year last season but due to injury and the death of his mother, he had struggled to keep his spot on the team and as so has not started a match since October 21.
Willian is known for his work rate. His hard running and speed are part of the Brazilian prowess. With an eye for goal but also the ability to track back and close opponents at the end of the pitch, Willian can be classified as a typical “Mourinho player”.
Mourinho has not had an easy ride at his new club as it’s been hard stringing back to back wins. And recently pleaded with the club to be patient with him as he tries to stamp his ideas on his new side.
And Mourinho would be looking to bring the Brazillian to Manchester according to dailystar.
