Not Carrasco- Mourinho Set To Sign €80M Star For Man United

It is quite obvious that Mourinho is interested to strengthen his team, and it is expedient that he utilize this month’s window transfer. Interestingly, right from last year, many transfer rumours surrounding Man United are linked with Atletico Madrid- and it is not yet over.

It has been rumoured by OK Diario that United have the interest to sign Belgian international Yannick Carrasco who actually has a release clause of £85 million in his contract.

Now, only yesterday, the Times claimed that United boss Jose Mourinho is planning a £145million raid on the La Liga club to sign the likes of Antoine Griezmann and Saul Niguez next summer.

Nevertheless, we want to focus on the Spanish international.

The £145m the Times talked about represent the combined release clause of both Antoine Griezmann and Saul Niguez.

And as for Niguez, the Mirror revealed that he signed a new deal with the Madrid club back in May 2016 with a release clause of €80million.

22-year-old Niguez who played a pivotal role in helping Atletico Madrid qualify for the final of the Champions League,  is a versatile player who can effectively play anywhere in the central/attacking midfield. And last season in 48 games, he scored 9 times and provided 4 assists.

This season too, starting 16 games, he already scored 3 times and has provided 2 assists for his side. Nevertheless, considering the fact that Mourinho is now playing two in-form players in the persons of Mkhitaryan and Pogba in the United attack, we don’t think he might need to spend that huge to sign both Griezmann and Niguez.
