Arsenal expecting £70million-plus-player offer for contract rebel

Premier League rivals Manchester City are not giving up in their chase of Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez and will reportedly offer the Gunners £70m-plus-player bid before the summer transfer window closes.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that the Chile international will not be sold severally in recent weeks, but there is still a pointer that attacker could be on his way out before the window closes on August 31.

The 28-year-old versatile midfielder made his first Premier league start of the season on Sunday but could not stop his team from falling to a humiliating 4-0 defeat at Anfield.

The contract rebel cut an increasingly frustrated figure during the match against Liverpool but could be offered a way out of the club as Pep Guardiola prepares to pounce.

The Daily Star reports that Pep’s team are preparing a whopping £70million bid for Sanchez, with Jason Denayer also included in the transfer deal.

The 22-year-old Denayer joined Manchester City back in 2014 but is yet to make a Premier League match for the first-team and has been sent out on loan three separate times in the last three years.

Arsene Wenger needs to decide quickly on keep England international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, amid interest from rivals Chelsea and Liverpool.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is pushing for a transfer, having turned down the Gunner’s recent contract offer, and Liverpool legend turned Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher feels both Chamberlain and Alexis Sanchez should be allowed to leave before the summer transfer window slams shut on Thursday.
