Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is not happy with his attacking players for failing to take advantage of their chances yesterday against Basel in the Champions League.
The red devils actually dominated the game that eventually ended 1-0 in favour of the Swiss club, but they couldn’t just convert their chances to goals, with both Marouane Fellaini and Romelu Lukaku missing good opportunities at first half.
The Old Trafford club weren’t with much vigor in the second half, and they ended up paying the price when Michael Lang scored a late goal to get all three points for his side.
And manager Jose Mourinho, speaking after the shocking defeat, described the first half of the game as ‘a perfect half without the goals’.
The former Real Madrid boss believed his attackers should have scored at least five goals before the break since they were very much dominant.
The Portuguese tactician is now focusing on the next premier league game against Brighton on Saturday, with his side still eight points behind Manchester City.
Manchester United fans will hope the attackers won’t replicate what we saw from them in the Champions League when they clash with Brighton on Saturday, as the Old Trafford club need all three points ahead of the back-to-back games against Arsenal and Manchester City.
