Arsenal prepared to launch move for £52m player – report

As per TeamTalk, North London giants Arsenal are preparing a summer switch for Benfica winger Anrija Zivkovic as manager Arsene Wenger continues to rebuild his team.

Several players signed

The manager signed Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang last month while the likes of Chilean Alexis Sanchez, England forward Theo Walcott, Francis Coquelin and Olivier Giroud all left the North London club.

Plenty of transfer activity is expected in the summer transfer window as the club’s new Director of Football Raul Sanllehi starts to influence things transfer activities at the club following his appointment last month.

Fans want more signings

While some supporters are desperate to see another goalkeeper, a centre-back and a central midfielder come to the club this summer it looks like the club is also looking to further reinforce in the attack.

Reports claim the Gunners have been showing interest in the £52m rated star in recent months with club scouts closely monitoring the exciting wideman on several occasions.

Wenger prepare bid

The Portuguese publication suggests Arsene Wenger is set to launch a move for the youngster this summer despite the 21-year-old having a hefty £52.5m buyout clause written in to his deal.

No doubt the Gunners will look to beat down that price but Benfica are under no pressure to sell as the Serbian is contracted to the team until 2021.
