Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has denied widespread reports claiming that he was responsible for the sale of Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho spoke about Liverpool forward Salah and the situation that led to his exit from Chelsea in a recent interview monitored by Football London.
The Portuguese tactician revealed that he signed the Egyptian international star for Chelsea from Swiss side FC Basel before adding that Salah was impatient as regards the playing time that he was getting under him at Stamford Bridge and that led to his loan move to Italian Serie A outfit Fiorentina.
Mohamed Salah impressed a great deal at Fiorentina before spending another successful loan spell at Italian capital club AS Roma.
The 26-year-old went on to join AS Roma permanently.
Liverpool signed him from AS Roma in a deal worth £36m at the start of last season and he has been instrumental to the recent successes recorded by the Reds.
Salah was a key part of the Liverpool squad that reached the final of the Champions League last season before they were beaten 3-1 by Spanish club Real Madrid.
He has scored 14 league goals this season to lead the Reds to the top of the Premier League table.
