England vs USA

England will play host to USA in a friendly game at the Wembley stadium later tonight.

There have been so much talk, comments about the game as former Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is set to play his final game for the England national team.

The former Everton and United striker who now plies his trade at MLS is set to be given a ceremonial departure by the England FA, teammates and pundits, hence, many coaches, ex-teammates and opponents, are all expected to be at Wembley stadium.

In all of these, Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri must witness the game, not just to honour Wayne Rooney but to see one of Chelsea’s defenders Matt Miazga in action.

The 23-year-old defender will be up against Tottenham’s hitman Harry Kane, the man of the day Wayne Rooney and Manchester city’s speedster Raheem Sterling. This will definitely be a stern test for the defender who is presently on loan at Ligue 1 side Nantes.

Should he hold his ground against these deadly strikers, he would be sending a clear message to Sarri that he’s ready to feature for the Blues in the nearest future.

Miazga was captured by Chelsea from New York Red Bulls in 2016 following his impressive performances for the American side.

However, he was immediately loaned out to Eredivisie side Vitesse where he spent two seasons. He returned back to Chelsea for pre-season tour but he didn’t get much time to showcase his qualities.

He was later loaned to Nantes before the start of this season to continue his growth in the game.

So far, the tall centre-back has featured in eight matches this campaign and he is likely to make his 11th appearances for the USA later today.

Apart from keeping a close watch on Miazga’s display, Sarri will equally see how rejuvenated midfielder Ross Barkley fare against the American team.

The former Everton man is in great and awe-inspiring form since Sarri took over from Antonio Conte and it would be Interesting to see how he performs at the centre of the pitch.

Reuben Loftus Cheek is another player whose display would be monitored by Sarri on Thursday.

The striker hasn’t been getting regular action with the Blues so far this season as Sarri have so much believe in Morata, Pedro, Hazard and even Giroud.

Though Loftus-cheek could be loaned out of Stamford Bridge in the next transaction period, the England youngster need to be lively during the encounter so as to convince the Italian manager he deserves more game time.
