Chelsea midfielder and England international, Ruben Loftus-Cheek is the new standard for the Blues midfielders having scored three goals in his first match for the Blues against BATE Borisov.

It is now obvious that Coach Maurizio Sarri will want his midfielders to start scoring goals in other to help Eden Hazard, who has been out of action lately owing to a back injury he sustained against Man Utd last weekend.

Chelsea midfielder, Mateo Kovacic in a recent statement applauded Ruben Loftus-Cheek for his effort for the Blues against BATE Borisov but he affirmed that the England international despite scoring will still have to fight to get a chance in the Blues first squad.

Some reports from Stamford Bridges have made it known that coach Maurizio Sarri doesn’t trust Ruben Loftus-Cheek enough to give him first-team play at Chelsea.

However, Kovacic stressed that he is also planning to find the back of the net for the Blues but the main thing is to keep the team moving.

He said, ‘One day I play then the next day Ross, then Ruben,’ he hinted that the Blues have a lot of midfielders like Kante, Fabregas, Jorginho among others.

Kovacic stressed that ‘It’s normal you can’t play every game so we are supporting each other.’
