Chelsea Star Finally Speaks: If Conte Sign These Players, I Won’t Feel Threatened

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is keen on bolstering his squad ahead of next campaign and is hoping to bring in another full back into his team.

He has been linked with the duo of Juventus’ Alex Sandro and Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand for much of this summer.

The arrival of either of Sandro or Bertrand to Stamford Bridge is likely to see Marcos Alonso being denied of regular game time like he did last term.

However, Alonso has insisted he is not concerned by the added competition the manager is trying to create at the club by signing another left back.

The 26-year-old enjoyed a fabulous campaign at Chelsea last season, playing 30 English top flight games as he helped Conte win the premier league title in his first campaign at the club.

However, despite his fine form, the Italian manager is still determined to bolster his defensive options this summer ahead of his side’s return to the Champions League.

Conte is known to be a huge fan of Juventus’ £60M-rated Alex Sandro and desire bringing the Brazilian to Stamford Bridge, despite that the Turin club are trying to hold on to him after selling Bonucci to AC Milan.

Chelsea have also been linked with Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand after Jose Mourinho sold him off to the Saints few years ago.

However, Marcos, speaking to the Evening Standard, says he will fight for his place in the starting XI, and he will ensure he keep training and improving and doing well for the team.

‘This is Chelsea – we play in four competitions this year’ he added.
