Italian giants Juventus have been handed a big transfer blow in their quest to sign Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri in this summer’s transfer window after the player shut down rumours of a move away from Stamford Bridge.
The Brazilian-born Italian international left-back dismissed rumours of a Chelsea exit in his recent interview monitored by the Daily Star.
According to him, he has a contract with Chelsea and that he’s happy to continue his football career with the West London giants.
The player has been linked with a move back to Italy with Serie A champions Juventus for the better part of the last six months.
Emerson Palmieri signed for Chelsea in January 2018 after spending three-and-a-half years with the Italian duo of Palermo and AS Roma.
The 24-year-old had a difficult start at Chelsea before establishing himself at the club during the just concluded campaign.
Emerson played second fiddle to Spanish international defender Marcos Alonso during the second half of last season before becoming the first choice left-back towards the end of the just concluded season.
He made 27 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions.
Emerson played 90 minutes as Chelsea finished the season with the Europa League title via a 4-1 win over London rivals Arsenal.
