According to reports, premier league heavyweights Manchester United are set to offer David De Gea a new improved deal to keep his heart fully at Old Trafford.
The new contract is meant to make the shot-stopper the highest paid player at the club, and the red devils hope he will ignore other clubs interested in his signature – especially Real Madrid.
The Spaniard was heavily linked with the La Liga heavyweights in 2015 and was on the verge of completing a move to the Bernabeu.
The former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper has also been repeatedly linked with a return to the Spanish capital in recent times
De Gea has evolved into one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and he will be out of contract at Old Trafford in 2019.
And according to reports, manager Jose Mourinho is keen on keeping the Spain international with him at Manchester, and he is ready to do all it takes to make him agree to a new deal with the goalie.
According to Sun, the Old Trafford club are ready to offer him a new deal that will see him earn £300,000 each week – which is what Frenchman Paul Pogba currently earns at the club.
It was also added that the red devils hope David sign the new contract before travelling with his country to the World Cup in Russia later this year.
