Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has hinted that star player Eden Hazard could stay at the club beyond this summer despite the intense transfer rumours linking him with a move to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

In an interview with media outlet Ekstra Bladet, the Danish international centre back revealed that they have been told that Chelsea won’t be able to sign any players before adding that the West London giants want to keep the players at their disposal.

This is as a result of the two-window transfer ban handed out to Chelsea for their part in the signing of underage players.

Chelsea was banned by world football’s governing body FIFA.

The Blues won’t be able to sign players until the summer of 2020 which is when the current contract of the aforementioned Hazard expires.

The Belgian international has been a long-term transfer target for Spanish giants Real Madrid with recent reports claiming that the 28-year-old could move to the club this summer.

The reappointment of Zinedine Zidane as the Real Madrid manager has also fuelled the possible transfer to Spain for Eden Hazard.

Andreas Christensen has confirmed his frustration and disgust at the transfer ban situation at Chelsea in the aforementioned interview.

The Danish defender wants to leave Chelsea but the transfer ban means he has to stay at the club.

He has made 19 appearances for Chelsea this term with just three coming in the Premier League.
