Last season was a very challenging one for Manchester United in the premier league, as all they could do was to finish on the sixth spot of the table.
They, however, managed to win the Europa League after beating Ajax in the final, and Ander Herrera was crowned the Player of the Year at the club.
Herrera was one of the most important members of Jose Mourinho’s team last term. But since Nemanja Matic arrived Old Trafford in the summer from Chelsea, the Spanish midfielder has mostly warmed the bench this campaign.
Manager Jose Mourinho Mourinho has preferred fielding the duo of Pogba and the Serbian in his midfield.
However, there are reports that Jose still regards Herrera as an important player in the club, and it was made known that the red devils have moved to agree to contract extension to keep away from Barcelona.
Last month, there were speculations such as this that were circulating in the media, but Manchester United are yet to confirm if it’s true or not.
But if the latest reports are anything to go by, then it means Ander’s deal at Old Trafford will now expire in 2019, and his wages will remain £100,000 each week.
This season so far, the midfielder has made 18 appearances for Man United and is yet to score a single goal.
