According to British media reports, Arsenal are ready to make a summer move to sign Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly.
Arsenal want Chelsea target
The Daily Express is claiming that Arsenal have “pinpointed” the Napoli star as the man to reinforce their backline this summer transfer window ahead of their first campaign without Frenchman Arsene Wenger in charge.
The 26-year-old has long been heavily linked with a switch to the English Premier League and he was tipped as a transfer target for Chelsea last summer.
The same report says that the Italian club have placed a £53m valuation on the Senegalese ahead of this summer’s window.
The combative midfielder is under contract at the Serie A club until 2021 but as per the same report, his present club know that they are prepared to face a stiff battle to keep hold of the midfielder this summer.
Mass exodus expected at Arsenal
The North Londoners are likely to be linked with a couple of players in the next couple of weeks as they prepare for life without Arsene Wenger.
The Gunners are yet to confirm who will replace the French tactician after the former Monaco boss called time on his 22-year charge as Arsenal boss.
They have not won the English Premier League title since their unbeaten success in the 2003-04 season.
