According to reports coming from Portugal, premier league heavyweights Man United have agreed on a deal to bring Umaro Embalo to Old Trafford from Benfica, and the youngster is now set to move to England.
Manchester United have been interested in the player for some time and have been keeping tabs on his developments at the Portuguese club.
It is understood that the Manchester United board made the decision to take steps in bringing him over to Old Trafford during the summer transfer window by tabling an offer in the region of £5million for the promising striker.
It was also made known that La Liga giants Real Madrid have also been stalking the 16-year-old considering his impressive form at Benfica, but it seems the Champions League winners have lost out in the transfer race to Manchester United.
Portuguese news outlet Record suggests the red devils have agreed to a deal and Umaro will join up with the Manchester United academy definitely.
The promising teenager is being compared to former Manchester United player Angel Di Maria following his displays for Benfica’s youth sides.
Embalo will, however, hope his career at Manchester United will flourish than that of Di Maria – who was considered a flop at the club.
Benfica U-19 side played with their Manchester United counterparts last month, and the match ended in a 2-2 draw – with Umaro playing for the Portuguese side and being watched by United officials.
