The ongoing World Cup is getting more and more exciting, and we were very much thrilled by the Belgium Vs Japan clash on Monday.
The Belgians knocked the Japanese out of the tournament in what could be aptly described as ‘dramatic circumstances’.
The Asian country took a stunning 2-0 lead through goals from the duo of Genki Haraguchi and Takashi Inui early in the second half, but the trio of Jan Vertonghen, Marouane Fellaini and Nacer Chadli helped transmit the Belgians to the quarterfinals of the world cup tournament
Everyone noticed Romelu Lukaku’s performance in the game. The Manchester United forward played a key role to seal the win that sent his country to the quarterfinals.
Most importantly, the former Everton man proved critics wrong when he helped Chadli scored the winning goal. He showed he is a brilliant player, and that he isn’t just all about ‘power and pace’ – a point Manchester United fans agreed to on twitter.
Although he didn’t score against the Japanese on Monday night, Romelu is still in the race for the prestigious Golden Boot award. He scored four times in the group stages and will hope to find the back of the net when his country clash with Brazil in the quarterfinals.
