England and Arsenal unsettled forward Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain wants £120,000-weekly pay to sign a new contract at the North London club amid interest from several clubs including Premier League Champions Chelsea.
The England international versatile midfielder is in the last 12 months of his current contract at Arsenal.
Several clubs including Premier League Champions and City rivals Chelsea and Merseyside giant Liverpool are keen on luring the big forward away from Emirate Stadium.
Chelsea have reportedly launched a £35 million offer to lure the Arsenal man to Stamford Bridge, and Oxlade-Chamberlain is interested in making the transfer.
According to Starsport, the Gunners have tabled an improved offer for the England international.
But their latest offer falls short of his desired £120,000-weekly wage package.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger does not want to lose the unsettled Oxlade-Chamberlain to a big Premier League rival club.
Speaking to reporters yesterday, the French tactician hailed the 23-year-old midfielder, as a big star for the future.
Wenger said, “Personally, I (Wenger) think he (Oxlade) is a hugely talented player.”
“He is on the way up, and he (Oxlade) will continue to move up because that potential is there.
“He (Oxlade) is today very conscious of his qualities as well, which he was not always, and I personally believe he will be a very great player.”
