Manchester United have agreed on a deal to sign Victor Benfica from Benfica, according to reports.

The Red Devils have been linked with a move for the 22-year-old since last January transfer window but could not sign due to discrepancies in transfer fee between the English giants and Benfica.

Recent reports have claimed that United have retained their interest in the Sweden international and will seek to bring him this summer.

Reports in The Sun claim that Lindelof is expected to arrive in Manchester after his international duties with Sweden when he is expected to finalise his move to the Old Trafford. The move is understood to a lucrative five-year deal.

A club insider told The Sun: ‘It’s a done deal. There are some very minor things to wrap up and of course the medical.

Jose Mourinho is understood to be a keen admirer of Lindelof’s abilities and sees him as an ideal partner for Eric Baily in the central defence.

The defender is also believed to be thrilled at the prospects of working under Mourinho and has been angling for the move since last winter window.
