Chelsea forward Willian is backing new signing Fred to be a major hit at Premier League side Manchester United after his Brazilian counterpart was confirmed as United’s first signing this summer on Tuesday.
Man United bring in midfield reinforcement
Man United announced that the club had agreed a move to land the Brazil international from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk as the Red Devils confirmed their first signing of the summer window.
The fee for the 25-year-old midfielder is thought to be about £52million, and the South American will join his new colleagues later in the summer as he tries and help his new team challenge for the English topflight title next term.
The Chelsea wide man himself is no stranger to being linked with a move to Manchester United, with the Blues star having been speculated as a possible transfer target for United in recent windows.
Willian back Fred
Now, Willian is backing the Man United recruit to be a huge hit at the club after the summer move of the Brazilian was confirmed on Tuesday.
Willian is cited as saying by British publication Metro that Fred is a quality player.
The Red Devils are likely to be in the market for a couple of new arrivals this summer window as they try and assemble a squad capable of favourably challenging Manchester City for the title next season.
