According to reports, Merseyside giants Liverpool are looking prepared to beat North London giants Arsenal to the transfer of Stoke star Jack Butland for a record-breaking transfer fee of £40million for a shot-stopper.
Butland favour Anfield move
The England international goalkeeper looks prepared to choose Merseyside over North London as he’s keen to work with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, as per the Daily Mirror.
Jack Butland would be a good signing to solve a problem in that position for the Reds, with Jurgen Klopp having to rotate between Loris Karius and Belgian Simon Mignolet for much of this campaign.
Neither safe hand has really convinced in goal for Liverpool as number one, so supporters will be relieved to see the side now looking for an upgrade in the form of the Englishman.
Solid goalkeeper
Butland, 25, has developed into one of the most solid goalkeepers in England and looks prepared to make the step up to a top club.
This development would be a major blow for the Gunners, however, who also look in need of a fresh signing in between the sticks after some suspect displays from former Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech of recent, while second choice goalie David Ospina also doesn’t look like a better alternative.
Still, the Mirror e Reds look ready to win the £40m tussle for the safe hand, who would eclipse the transfer fee Ederson moved to Premier League leaders Manchester City for if he signs at that price.
