Premier League giants Liverpool have been boosted by the news that one of their transfer targets has withdrawn from new contract talks with his club.
French outlet RMC say that Paris Saint Germain (PSG) midfielder Adrien Rabiot has withdrawn from contract talks with the Paris-based club and that he would leave the club in the New Year.
He has less than one year remaining on his PSG contract and that has played a major role in the transfer links involving him with a move to interested clubs like Liverpool.
The Reds are long-term admirers of the young French midfielder.
Other interested clubs include Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona.
Earlier reports from Spanish media outlet Sport claimed that La Liga champions Barcelona have already won the race to sign the 23-year-old and that he has already signed a pre-contract agreement with the Nou Camp giants.
Adrien Rabiot is a full French international but he missed out on the team that won this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia with a 4-2 victory over fellow Europeans Croatia in their final clash.
He was initially named on the standby list by the French coach Didier Deschamps only for him to tell the coach that he won’t be a part of his alternative list.
