Premier League giants Liverpool have been linked with a swoop for Brazilian attacking midfielder Alex Teixeira ahead of the January transfer window in few weeks time.
The Brazilian star plays his club football for Jiangsu Suning FC in the Chinese Super League.
Liverpool came close to signing the 28-year-old two years ago according to the Daily Star but the Reds failed with a £24.5m bid.
Alex Teixeira was high on the list of transfer targets for the new Liverpool managerial reign of Jurgen Klopp at that time.
Jiangsu Suning were willing to offer more than what the Reds could come up with.
The Chinese club sealed a £38m transfer for him shortly afterwards.
Alex Teixeira was a cult hero at Ukrainian club Shakthar during his six-year stint with the league champions.
He helped the club wrestle Ukrainian club football domination from the hands of rivals Dynamo Kiev.
He scored 89 goals and provided 23 assists for Shakthar Donetsk in all competitions, including 11 goals and four assists in 41 Champions League games.
Alex Teixeira has continued that form in China since he moved to Jiangsu Suning.
He has scored 45 goals and provided 27 assists in 72 games in all competitions for the Chinese club since his move two years ago.
