Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has defended his stance not to sign a new top striker this summer and insisted that his current attackers that the Merseyside club has are good enough to win trophies.

The only forward that Liverpool signed this recently slammed summer transfer window was former Chelsea youngster Dominic Solanke, who despite being highly rated, lacks the much-needed experience at the highest football level.

The Merseysider’s have not had quality outings from their forwards in recent years and the last League season that someone had netted more than 20 goals for the club in a League season came when Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez did so for the reds during the 2013/14 Premier League season.

Jurgen Klopp has however revealed that he is delighted with having England international striker Daniel Sturridge and Brazilian Roberto Firmino as his forward options.

The Liverpool manager said, there was no good striker available in the transfer market during the summer window, because himself and the entire technical crew of the club considered a lot of strikers’s over the summer, but could not identify a striker better than the ones he currently has in his team or a striker that fits better than Studge and Firminho.
