According to British media reports, Chelsea are closing in on appointing Maurizio Sarri as the side’s new head coach.
Deal almost Agreed for Chelsea target
The Guardian is claiming that the Italian is growing increasingly sure that a transfer deal can be agreed to bring the tactician to Stamford Bridge from Napoli this summer window.
The same article states that Maurizio Sarri is likely to join Chelsea with club legend Gianfranco Zola coming in as his assistant.
The club’s managerial situation has been a major source of uncertainty recently, with former Italy and Juventus manager Antonio Conte generally expected to leave the west London side this window.
However, an official announcement has not been made by Chelsea the Italian tactician Conte remains the manager of the West London club as things stand.
Blues to pay a whopping sum
As per the same report, the Blues could be asked to cough out £3.5m fee to the Serie A club to seal the services of their target man as their new boss this summer window.
The former Premier League champions endured a disappointing season last year when they finished the League season in the fifth position and will miss out on UEFA Champions League action for next season.
However, the club did end the season on a decent note by defeating Man United in the Emirates FA Cup final.
