Paris Saint Germain (PSG) talisman Neymar is said to be pushing the club to sign compatriot Philippe Coutinho when the transfer window reopens in few weeks time.

According to Spanish news portal Sport, Neymar wants PSG to sign Coutinho who’s expected to be available for a transfer this summer.

Neymar and Coutinho played together for the Brazilian national team.

Former Liverpool player Coutinho has not been able to live up to his huge potentials since he left the Reds for Spanish champions Barcelona in January 2018.

His transfer from Liverpool to Barcelona was the third most expensive in football history but he has not been able to justify the investment on him.

Coutinho moved to Barcelona in a controversial manner after he practically forced the Reds to sell him.

The former Inter Milan playmaker might be surplus to requirements at Barcelona in the coming weeks after reports claimed that the Spanish champions are closing in on a move for Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann.

The Frenchman announced his decision to leave Atletico Madrid after five years on Tuesday night and Barcelona are already on the verge of paying the £108m release clause in his contract with the Spanish capital club.

Chelsea and PSG are clubs interested in Coutinho if Barcelona want to sell him this summer.
