Monaco star player Thomas Lemar is a hot prospect this summer after emerging as a target for a handful of top clubs across Europe.
Right now, the Telegraph are reporting that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have made an enquiry for the Frenchman and might bring him to Anfield before Thursday.
Lemar enjoyed a largely successful campaign with Monaco last season and played a big role in their ability to win the Ligue 1 title ahead of PSG. The winger also played a role in them reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League surprisingly.
The France international has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal for much of this summer, but Arsene Wenger’s side have seen several bids turned down by the Ligue I champions for him.
Having sold a handful of their top players already this summer, Monaco are understood to be keen on keeping hold of Thomas to help defend their Ligue I trophy this season against a stronger PSG side.
However, the Telegraph claimed Liverpool have also made enquiries about the possibility of a deal for the versatile star – a deal worth €60m.
Considering that the price is more than what Arsene Wenger’s side were willing to offer for the player, Monaco might have a change of heart and allow the player to make the move to Anfield.
If the deal should see the light of the day before the closing of the window on Thursday, Liverpool’s club-record transfer will be smashed once more by Jurgen Klopp, having done so earlier on in the summer when he landed Mohamed Salah from AS Roma.
