Klopp Sends New Message Across About Virgil Van Dijk

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is not in agreement with Jamie Carragher’s recent comments on Virgil Van Dijk.

The former Southampton player was rested for his new side’s recent game against Huddersfield, and Jamie feels the Dutchman simply need to lose a ‘bit of weight’.

The Liverpool legend told Sky Sports that Van Dijk will definitely end up well at Anfield, but he is yet to ‘hit the ground running’ and should lose some weight too.

But it appears manager Jurgen Klopp is not pleased with the statement, and the German boss has asked Jamie to be the one that should run around to lose some weight instead.

Liverpool signed the former Ajax defender from Southampton FC in January for £75 Million – the highest amount paid for a defender in football history.

Jurgen disagreed there is something wrong with Virgil’s physique, insisting Liverpool have the best nutrition department who sees nothing wrong with the player.

The German boss also said he isn’t expecting too much from the defender right now as he needs time to adapt fully to how things work at Liverpool.

Klopp believes things will get better for Van Dijk next season.

After winning Huddersfield 3-0 recently, the Anfield club will clash next with Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur this weekend in the premier league – and Virgil is expected to participate in the duel.
