Ex-Everton Player Reacts To Fabregas’ Display For Chelsea Against Swansea

Kevin Kilbane was obviously impressed by Cesc Fabregas’ performance in his side’s 3-1 victory over Swansea on Saturday

Former Everton man Kevin Kilbane heaped lots of praises on Cesc Fabregas for his finishing prowess after the midfielder marked his 300th Premier League appearance with a goal for Chelsea in their 3-1 win over Swansea City on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.

Fabregas was restored to the starting line-up by coach Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge in place of midfielder Nemanja Matic, and the former Arsenal star repaid Conte’s faith by scoring the opening goal in the 19th minute for his side.

The Spaniard has been made to wait for regular first team football this term following Antonio Conte’s arrival at Stamford Bridge last summer but the 29-year-old has impressed when called upon.

Fabregas did not disappoint once again when he started at Chelsea’s clash with Swansea City at Stamford Bridge.

And Irish ex-winger Kevin Kilbane was full of praise for the former Arsenal Captain after he managed to dig the ball out from under his feet and fire home to put Chelsea in front.

Speaking during BBC Sport’s live coverage of the game, Kilbane said:

“It had been coming from Chelsea – they have worked it well, they have created chances, well, openings rather than chances, but Fabregas did well to get power behind that when it was under his feet,”

Swansea’s Fernando Llorente equalised for his side just on the stroke of half-time but Pedro Rodriguez scored for the blues in the 71st minute to put them ahead once more.

Then Diego Costa scored a third goal in the 83rd minute to confirm the full points, which moved Chelsea 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
