Mourinho left Chelsea last year when the dressing room turned against him, few months after winning the Premiership.

Antonio Conte left the Italian national team after leading them to the UEFA Euro 2016 to replace Jose Mourinho over the summer and the blues are now leading the Premier League table with 11 points clear adrift Manchester City.

According to Daily Star pundit Shearer made an honest admission – He said: “It’s topical that players aren’t working for managers.

And he also said again: “It’s topical that players aren’t working for managers.

“The irony is last season we were sat here with a large bunch of these players with a large bunch of these players not working for the manager.

“We know what happened but it’s such a transformation now.

“We saw how brilliant they are with the ball but look at them without it.

“N’Golo Kante makes a huge difference but there’s a hunger and desire from every player to get the ball back, to do the dirty work that at times a lot of players don’t want to do.

“That wasn’t the case last season. The transformation from then to now is incredible.”
