Italian journalist Emanuele Cammarot has confirmed that Premier League giants Chelsea will sign Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj when the transfer window reopens in the next few weeks.
The Albanian international right-back has repeatedly been touted as a potential signing for the new Chelsea setup under manager Maurizio Sarri.
Cammarot further revealed that Hysaj sees Sarri as his mentor and he will join him at Stamford Bridge in January for a likely fee of around €45m.
Elseid Hysaj is no stranger to Maurizio Sarri after both parties have worked together at two clubs.
Hysaj played for Empoli while the Italian tactician was the manager until the summer of 2015.
Sarri left Empoli for Napoli that summer before the Albanian international defender followed in the footsteps of his mentor.
The player secured a transfer from Empoli to Napoli shortly after Maurizio Sarri.
Sarri and Hysaj worked together at Napoli for three years before the former left Naples to take up the Chelsea job this summer.
Maurizio Sarri was named the new Chelsea boss after putting pen to paper on a three-year contract.
He replaced compatriot Antonio Conte as the Chelsea manager.
Since his appointment, Elseid Hysaj has been linked with a transfer to Stamford Bridge.
