Former Manchester United player Gary Neville believes his former side must earn all six points from the two premier league games they will play before hosting Pep Guardiola’s side at Old Trafford.
The red devils will face Watford on Tuesday and travel to North London to clash with Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal in the weekend, before the game against the league leaders next week.
The citizens have been unstoppable so far this season, and are yet to lose a single game in the premier league, topping the table with eight points.
In all fairness, the sky blue club are likely to win their next two premier league games against West Ham and Southampton, before travelling to Old Trafford for the Manchester Derby on December 10.
And Manchester United legend Gary Neville insists Jose Mourinho’s side must also win the games against Watford and Arsenal so as not to fall further behind.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Neville said if the gap remains eight points before the clash at Old Trafford, a win over Manchester City can ‘change the course of the season.’
Glaringly, if Mourinho is to overtake Guardiola and win the premier league this season with Manchester United, he certainly have to beat the citizens when they meet.
