According to reports, The Daily Mail claims Arsenal are planning on tabling an offer for Manchester City star Raheem Sterling in the January transfer window, with the winger willing to return to London.
As per the Telegraph, the England international left Liverpool for Manchester City in July 2015 for £49million.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Raheem Sterling was a subject of a part-exchange deal with the Gunners on transfer deadline day with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola willing to lure Chile international forward Alexis Sanchez to the Etihad Stadium. However, the move did not materialize as the Ex Barcelona tactician wanted a deal involving only cash without letting any of his key personnel leave.
Former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola is convinced that the 22-year-old winger remains committed to the Etihad club despite the publication claiming that the City star may be keen on a move back to the City of London, where he grew up as a boy in a bid to secure regular playing time for himself.
Raheem Sterling has netted twice in three matches this campaign but sat out City’s 5-0 humiliation of rivals Liverpool last Saturday after being sent off for running into spectators following his last minute winner in his team’s 2-1 victory over AFC Bournemouth about two weeks ago.
