Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland has hinted that he is open to a Manchester United move, after saying he would ‘deal with’ replacing David De Gea at the Old Trafford.

The English shot stopper was on show as the Potteries recorded a shock 1-0 win over Arsenal at the bet365 stadium on Saturday and believes he has got what it takes to take over from De Gea at Manchester United.

The Spanish keeper has been linked with a move away from the Old Trafford this summer as reports of his exit to Real Madrid continues to be discussed in the current transfer window.

Real Madrid are understood to have pulled out of a deal to sign AS Monaco youngster Kylian Mbappe who is said to be nearing a move to Paris Saint Germain despite holding talks with a couple of clubs in Europe over a possible summer move.

The Champions League winners have been tipped to focus on luring David De Gea to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer and will try to thrash out a deal with Manchester United before the end of the window.

When asked about the possibility of replacing De Gea at United, Butland hinted that he will be open to an Old Trafford move, by saying he will ‘deal with’ taking over from De Gea at the ‘biggest club in the world’.

Manchester United have been linked with a couple of keepers in Europe, and AC Milan youngster Gianluigi Donnarumma is one of the name being discussed while some outlets are also reporting that Jose Mourinho will prefer an experienced Premier League keeper to man his goal post if De Gea eventually exits the Old Trafford this window.
