How disagreeing with Lukaku has helped me

The international break is here and Andreas Pereira will not forget how he disagreed with his Manchester United teammate, Romelu Lukaku on the choice of his national team.

Having the option to play for either Brazil or Belgium, Lukaku had told Pereira to ignore the former, the country home of his both parents for the latter, where he was given birth to.

The 22-year-old disagreed with the Belgium forward on the ground that he is a big fan of the Santos and wanted to feel more at home.

The decision he took sometimes back has now paid off as he will feature for Brazil against USA and El Salvador during the international break for the first time ever.

He revealed that Lukaku’s persuasion almost convinced him but he had to follow his heart and make his parents proud.

The midfielder recalls how emotional he was during the just concluded FIFA World Cup where Belgium knocked Brazil out at the quarter-final stage.

Though he holds a positive thought of Belgium but he had wished that the South Americans take the day as he was being teased by his Belgian friends.

However, playing for United is a big one for Pereira who is to have his debut with Brazil and he hopes that more trophies can be won at the Old Trafford.
