Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola could be set to hijack the transfer of Real Madrid midfielder Isco Alarcon following the news that the Citizens have joined the race to sign the player.
Spanish newspaper AS say that Manchester City and Guardiola have already made contact in the bid to sign the unsettled Isco.
Premier League sides Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea were heavily linked with the 26-year-old before the interest of Manchester City became public knowledge.
Spanish international Isco is having a rough time at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu following his lack of game time with Real Madrid since manager Santiago Solari took charge of the European champions.
Recent reports revealed that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez requested for the aforementioned Solari to show Isco some love only for the Argentine tactician to respond by benching him for the entire duration of the Spanish La Liga victory over city rivals Rayo Vallecano at the weekend.
Real Madrid won the game 1-0 courtesy the first half goal from French striker Karim Benzema.
Isco is said to be considering his options with some weeks left before the opening of the mid-season transfer window.
The former Malaga playmaker would definitely be a very good addition to the squad of Liverpool and the other interested English top flight sides.
