A vital area in which the Blues could arguably reinforce is the midfield position, and reports state they may set their eye on CSKA Moscow starlet Aleksandr Golovin.
Despite being just 21-years-old, Aleksandr Golovin has played 96 matches in all competitions for the Russian side, while he has featured in 15 matches for the national side.
It looks like the central midfielder will be a prominent figure for the Russian National team and club going forward for many years to come, having a lot of experience at such a youthful age.
Having sold Serbian international midfielder Nemanja Matic to rival Manchester United during the summer, and with summer signing from Monaco Tiemoue Bakayoko coming under severe fire recently and on Saturday during the loss to local rivals West Ham United, it has resulted in a possible problem for manager Antonio Conte in the midfield.
As reported by The Sun, the youngster could be a £15million answer to that question in the winter transfer window, although it’s claimed that the starlet could be loaned back to CSKA Moscow for the remainder of the campaign so as to prevent disrupting his development.
The same report claims that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is interested and wants to sign him before the FIFA World Cup. Considering his age, his undoubted quality and importance to the national team, that £15million valuation is likely to increase if he has a good run in the tournament.
